India Responds Strongly to Pakistan's Allegations
India responded strongly to Pakistan's allegations at the United Nations Human Rights Council, rejecting claims of human rights violations and democratic suppression in Jammu and Kashmir. India emphasized Pakistan's hypocrisy, citing its support for terrorist organizations and lack of democratic progress. The article also highlights the call for Pakistan to focus on improving governance rather than making baseless accusations against India.

Geneva: Pakistan once again vented its frustration against India on international platforms. Recently, in the United Nations Human Rights Council, Pakistan accused India of suppressing democracy and violating human rights in Jammu and Kashmir. India firmly rejected these allegations, asserting that Pakistan does not have the credibility to offer lectures on the matter. The comments were made by Pakistan's Minister for Law and Human Rights, Azam Nazir Tarar, about Jammu and Kashmir during a session held in Geneva. India's Ambassador, Kshitij Tyagi, responded sharply to these accusations.
India emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have always been integral parts of the country. For decades, these regions have suffered due to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, and India has worked hard to restore normalcy in the areas. The country stressed that Pakistan, which has failed to uphold democratic values and has been involved in human rights violations, is in no position to lecture India. It further accused Pakistan of hypocrisy, as it continues to harbor terrorist organizations listed by the UN.
India pointed out that its focus is on advancing democratic progress and ensuring the dignity and rights of its people. It called on Pakistan to shift its attention to providing good governance for its own citizens instead of making baseless allegations. India also responded sharply to Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar's remarks about Jammu and Kashmir made during a recent Security Council meeting chaired by China. India condemned Pakistan for promoting organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and found it ludicrous that Pakistan, which supports terrorism, claims to be fighting against it.
